Description

Based on the existing layout of the cafe, HSBVN selected the types of plants and calculated the quantities needed for planting. Most were hardy plants that tolerated sunlight well, such as elephant ear, evergreen, parrot's beak, and monstera, which were the main large plants, combined with smaller shrubs to create a layered effect on the walls/planters.

Because the cafe is an open space, the plants will be exposed to a lot of direct sunlight, so HSBVN chose a substrate of coconut coir and coconut fiber to retain water, moisture, and nutrients better for outdoor plants, helping them stay green and healthy.
The cafe gets quite a lot of sun, so HSBVN chose to plant chrysanthemums on the roof to cascade down, greening the space and creating a focal point like a natural curtain to provide shade. Because the plants are on the roof, HSB installed an automatic watering system to ensure the plants receive enough water and grow long, green, and healthy.
